Denise B. Soto

Attorney Denise Bianes Soto, of the Soto Law Firm, P.C., practices with her daughter Jennifer Potter in the following areas: wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, Medicaid planning, taxable estates planning, guardianships, conservatorships, probate, trust administration, pre-marital agreements, corporations and LLCs.

Professionally, Denise is a member of Oregon State Bar Elder Law and Estate Planning Sections. Denise served as past President of the Linn County Bar Association (2007-2008, and 2008-2009), Chair of the Linn County Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee, and member of the Law Library Board. She is a past Secretary of the Linn County Bar Association.

Other professional affiliations include: WealthCounsel Estate Planning Attorneys, the Oregon Regional Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys, a past member of the National Network for Estate Planning Attorneys, a current member of “Stop Elder Abuse Now,” (a group organized to problem-solve about local elder abuse issues). In 2000-2001, Denise served as recording secretary of the Lane County Bar Association Probate Committee, and belonged to the Lane County Financial Planning Association and the Eugene Estate Planning Council.

In serving the community, she is the founder of the Professional Women’s Association, a member of Soroptimist International of Albany, and a member of the Greater Albany Rotary Club. Denise graduated from West Albany High School, earned an Associate Degree from Linn-Benton Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from Oregon State University, graduating magna cum laude, and earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law. She proceeded into the workforce as a hearings officer for the State of Oregon Department of Business and Consumer Services.

Thereafter, she began practicing law, establishing a career in Estate Planning, founding her own law firm, the Soto Law Firm, P.C. Denise now practices with her daughter, Jennifer Potter, who also graduated from Willamette University College of Law. The Soto Law Firm is located at the corner of Tenth and Elm in Albany.

Denise is married to Glen Soto, owner of First Stop Auto Repair.

Jennifer Potter

Jennifer Potter, a partner at the Soto Law Firm, P.C., graduated, cum laude, from Western Oregon University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Jennifer then graduated with her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law. She has served as a board member of the Rotary Club of Albany from 2008-2012, and served as the secretary of the Linn County Bar Association. Jennifer is an active member of the Linn-Benton Women Lawyers group and the Professional Women’s Association. Jennifer is a member of the Oregon State Bar Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, their 2.5 year old son, a daughter (who is on the way), and their pets.
